Grobogan Regency is one of the districts in Central Java Province. The capital is Purwodadi. Grobogan Regency is the second largest district in Central Java. Grobogan is flanked by two limestone mountains, namely the Kendeng Mountains in the south and the North Cretaceous Mountains in the north. The middle part of the area is lowland, and is flowed by Serang River and Lusi River. Grobogan has teak forests and mahogany forests, also has productive agricultural land. The most famous culture in Grobogan is the art of tayub. Tayuban contains elements of beauty and harmony of motion. This dance is usually held at weddings, circumcisions and grand events such as the independence day of the Republic of Indonesia. Celebration of victory in village head elections, as well as village clean events. The Tayuban members consist of sinden, gamelan stylists and dancers, especially women. Tayub dance dancers can be done alone or together. The tayub dancer is called ledhek.

               Grobogan Regency is divided into plain areas, hilly areas, highland areas. Grobogan Regency is directly adjacent to Demak, Kudus, Pati, Ngawi, Sragen, Boyolali, Semarang, Blora.                The origin of Grobogan was based on folklore, one day the Demak sultanate led by Sunan Ngundung and Sunan Kudus invaded the center of the Majapahit kingdom. In the battle Demak forces won and the Majapahit Kingdom collapsed. When Sunan Ngundung entered the palace, he found many Majapahit heritage left behind. The objects are collected and put into a grobog, then taken to Demak. On the way back to Demak, the grobog was left somewhere, then the place was called Grobogan. Grobog is also a place to store weapons / heirlooms, puppets, jewelry, and so on. The event was very impressive in the heart of Sunan Ngundung, as a reminder, the place was named Grobogan, which is where grobog was left behind.
